Monitoring, reporting and analysis of electrical, water and gas consumption in buildings is rightly becoming established practice. The energy consumed in HVAC systems can be as much as 80% of a building’s total consumption, and while this is increasingly monitored, the performance settings and state of tuning of these systems is not always visible to building users or energy assessors. An accumulation of inefficiencies, lost settings and alterations over time can have a very significant effect on the energy consumed.
We carry out in depth testing and evaluating of HVAC system performance. This allows inefficiencies to be identified and addressed. Often there are numerous factors which when addressed, allow both energy savings and improved conditions for occupants.
Strategic tuning of building services can both restore lost settings, and in some cases allow further benefits to be realised as settings and components are optimised for efficiency. We can work independently or as part of an existing energy assessment process. We consult where required to ensure the building performance and environment provided to clients is not compromised, and provide documentation on tests and adjustments carried out.
Any system alterations will be communicated to the building user or relevant contractors. We can assist with updating of the Building User Guide, Building Log Book, and Operation and Maintenance Manual, all of which are intended as live documents for ongoing reference.
